Turn 1 flannel shirt into 6 Halloween costumes – Fashion Men
Guys – do you own a flannel? Well we are pretty sure you do, so here are SIX different ideas for easy Halloween costumes for men using this one shirt! You’re welcome. To make these epic Halloween costumes, we picked up this basic red flannel at our local thrift store for $5 and paired it with a bunch of basic clothes that most men already have. Scroll to see how we created these super easy (even last minute!) Halloween costumes!
Thanks to Zane for wearing all these looks!
The strength to get things done.
Men, ready those muscles and those pearly whites – pearly? The Brawny Man has it all! He has that muscular body to blow us away, the square jaw line to melt our hearts, and the perfect black hair we can’t wait to run our fingers through.
The Muscle Man Halloween Costume
First, buy the (hilarious) Muscle Shirt. Think of it as a push-up bra for your entire torso. Cut off the lower arm of the muscle suit and roll up the sleeves to get down to business.
“Oh my God, is that dirt over there on your vanity mirror? Girl, I got you. Let me fix that.
Flannel, bootcut jeans and work boots are the staples of this look, but it’s all about the accessories. We bought this basic tool belt from Amazon. Fill it with your tools (or a flask) to really get into the Halloween spirit.
We all hate measuring to hang your favorite framed wall art. Don’t worry, Al is here to save the day.
If you don’t want to commit to a full bushel of beard, we understand. We picked up this fake beard and find the look quite comical.
“I’m happier than a tornado in a trailer park!” There is nothing better than a man who can make you laugh. Larry the Cable Guy has a special sense of humor, but the one thing we can always count on him for is his flannel sleeveless shirts. I guess he must always be warm.
Cable Guy Larry Halloween Costume
Get ready to release some anger, because you’ll have to rip the sleeves off for this look. Pair your sleeveless flannel with bootcut jeans, boots, and a trucker-inspired baseball cap.
This look says, “My cooking is probably mediocre, but I can make you laugh while we try to cook together.” 😉
Larry’s signature look is his goatee-mustache combo. We weren’t going to make Zane shave for this costume, so instead we created the look with a tacky fake beard and brown eyebrow pencil.
Zane completely dressed for this costume himself from his own wardrobe. Pair your flannel with a v-neck tee, skinny cuffed jeans and your best pair of leather loafers. Accessories are a must – think thick-rimmed glasses, a beanie and a cold beer. PBR or Tecate will do, since you are already creating the perfect beer yourself 😉
Marty McFly Halloween Costume
Yes, that day has already passed! Oh Marty, confused by the world. But real talk – can you believe the year Marty traveled in his time machine was 2015? How time passes.
Marty’s look is all about the layers, so be sure to add a denim jacket and that signature puffy vest over the flannel. Pair it with boot cut jeans and the whitest pair of 90s (dad) sneakers you own.
Keep the hair simple. We went for a side part and some windblown vibes – time travel is windy, right?
Windblown Man Costume
We’ve all had those bad umbrella days…
This look was our absolute favorite to create. We’re just dying that no wind or fan was used to create this photo.
We had Zane dressed in normal everyday attire, then added some windblown adjustments. You will want to stick yarn inside your tie to give it a wavy shape and then pin it to the corner of the flannel. We also pinned the bottom corner of the shirt and taped on some windblown newspaper ads at the knee of the pants. Most importantly, you’ll need an upside-down broken umbrella to complete this costume.
And it’s a wrap!
