Alex Bregman’s flannel shirt could be a lucky charm for Astros – Fashion Men
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – To quote a phrase from the beloved Halloween movie “Hocus Pocus,” if you don’t believe it, you better get superstitious.
To be fair, you could also go the “very superstitious” way a la Stevie Wonder.
But whatever your lucky song, that superstition seems to work for Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman. He was spotted on Tuesday afternoon wearing his lucky checkered flannel shirt before Game 6, according to his Instagram story.
As MLB’s Cut 4 pointed out, Bregman wore that same flannel shirt for World Series Games 3, 4, and 5, and they won every one of those games.
All three games were played at Nationals Park in Washington DC, with the 7-1 win in Game 5 on Sunday night, putting the Astros just one win away from securing their second World Series title.
Even when the Astros returned to Houston early Monday morning after that World Series road trip, Bregman was spotted getting off the team bus with the jersey on.
Does the outfit have the same mojo if Bregman wears it at Minute Maid Park on Tuesday night?
Astros fans will need to keep an eye on his gear leading up to Game 6, but it looks like Houston has regained its rhythm anyway.
By the way, Bregman isn’t the only one who finds success in rituals. Carlos Correa said that while he doesn’t really like superstitions, part of his daily routine is eating banana pancakes in the morning.
Correa admitted that her boss prepares them, but when fiancee Daniella Rodriguez prepares them, Correa gushes that hers are made with love.
